As of Spring 2024, Colorado State University began its role as EF Education First’s School of Record partner. Courses taken through this School of Record partnership through a host institution are flagged on the Colorado State University Official Transcript appearing with a “0” preceding the grade on the transcript with an SOR designation. At Colorado State University, we convert the credit hours and grades earned at the host institution to align with our 120-credit-hour semester undergraduate programs and traditional A-F grading scale. Those courses do not calculate into the CSU GPA.

Credits earned through the Colorado State University EF School of Record partnership should be referenced as Colorado State University credit as reflected on the Colorado State University Official Transcript.

Language Curriculum

EF’s language curriculum is structured around the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), an international standard of language proficiency. The CEFR organizes language proficiency in six levels, A1 to C2.  These levels align with the following language proficiency levels established by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL), providing clarity in determining language proficiency level equivalencies.

Language credits earned through EF’s language curriculum will appear on students’ Official Transcript as CSU language credit with a traditional A-F grade.
