Tuition and Fee Assessment Term Definitions

Base Tuition Amount charged all students per credit hour. There is a different rate for undergraduate residents, undergraduate non-residents, Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) students, graduate residents, graduate non-residents and Professional Veterinary Medicine students.
COF Stipend Since fall 2005, undergraduate Colorado resident students have been eligible to receive a College Opportunity Fund (COF) stipend from the State of Colorado to apply toward tuition costs. To receive the COF stipend students must apply on the COF website AND authorize CSU to request the funds via RAMweb. For more information about COF, please see the Student Financial Services website.

Amount of tuition for which an undergraduate Colorado resident student is responsible, after the College Opportunity Fund (COF) stipend is credited to the student account.

Fee to support university-wide technology needs for students.

Student’s Share of Base Tuition and Fees The amount of tuition and fees for which an undergraduate student is responsible. (For an undergraduate Colorado resident student, this is after the COF stipend is credited to the student account.) This does NOT include any additional tuition, charges for technology or special course fees.

Total Costs of Attendance

The cost of attendance (COA) is the estimated full and reasonable cost of completing a full year as a full-time student. The cost of attendance  includes:

  • Tuition and fees payable to the institution
  • Books and supplies
  • Room and board
  • Personal costs, transportation
